Understand Dota 2 Before Entering
Dota 2 is Valve’s five-versus-five strategy game, built around selecting heroes, protecting your own Ancient and breaking the opposing Ancient. Each match begins with a draft that shapes lane roles, team fights and late-game decisions. We present Dota 2 as a dedicated match category rather than mixing it into unrelated game screens. Check the event card, participating teams and match stage before
you choose a Dota 2 selection.
- Team structure — Each Dota 2 match centres on two teams of five heroes. Roles can include carry, support, mid and offlane, so team composition matters before the first creep wave reaches a lane.
- Hero selection — Draft choices affect crowd control, damage sources and map mobility. A late hero change or a targeted ban can alter how you read the match before its opening minutes.
- Match objective — The decisive Dota 2 objective is the enemy Ancient. Towers, barracks, Roshan and map vision all influence the route teams use to reach that final structure.
